On the 27 February 2026 through to 2 March 2026, the KZN Sharks Board had an the opportunity to attend and participate in the Caravan Show in Johannesburg. The event was an excellent platform for engaging with the public, showcasing the work of the Sharks Board, educating the community, and raising awareness about the importance of sharks. The festival was held at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand. The centrepiece of our exhibit was a set of shark jaws, which drew significant attention from both children and adults. The jaws served as an effective tool to spark curiosity and interest in sharks. Once visitors were intrigued, we took the opportunity to educate them on the various species of sharks we work with, highlighting their importance in maintaining the health of ocean ecosystems.
This year was exceptionally special as we also got to sell items from our Curio Shop. This was the highlight of our weekend as we were not only able to exhibit our organization but also make money towards our research and business development. Â
